Activity 1: Vide-watching
1. Students are asked t watch a shrt vide and cnsider:
1) hw d scientists perceive and interpret the wrld?
2) What is mainly included in the scientific prcess?

The vide ffers a visual and auditry input abut hw scientist perceive the wrld. Intrductin f the scientific prcess stimulates Ss’ mtivatin in reading and thinking. In this activity, Ss’ learning strategies and thinking abilities f cmparing, analyzing and reflecting are enhanced.
Activity 2: Predicting
Predict the cntent f the passage based n the title and the diagram.

Raising questins based n the title and the pictures is intended t help enhance Ss’ linguistic ability f predicting and cultivate the learning strategies f autnmus learning.
Activity 3: Scanning
Scan the passage and lcate the answer t the fllwing questins.
1) Wh is Jhn Snw?
2) What is “King Chlera”?
3) Why is Chlera called the “King”?
4) Hw des Jhn Snw defeat “King Chlera”?

Scanning fr specific infrmatin helps Ss get a clear picture f the basic structure f the passage, navigating Ss’ reading fr further infrmatin. Ss’ linguistic ability is highly facilitated in this activity.
Activity 4: Detailed reading

2. Read para.2-4 and srt ut what Jhn Snw did t find the cure fr chlera.
3. Infer the meaning f the wrd “cntradictry” and phrase “subscribe t”.
