      standard作名词,意为“标准;水平”。the standard f意为“……的标准”;meet/reach a standard意为“达到标准”。

      拓展延伸award作动词,意为“授予;颁发;判给,”award sb sth=award sth t sb意为“授予某人某物”。

      althugh作连词,意为“尽管;虽然”,引导让步状语从句,与 thugh同义。Althugh the sun was shinning, it wasn't very warm. 尽管太阳高照,却不是很暖和。
      注意在同一个句子中,althugh / thugh不能与 but 同时出现。
      4. Until yu talk t them, they might nt knw hw yu feel. 直到你和他们谈谈,他们可能才知道你的感受。
      until 在此处作连词,意为“直到……为止”,引导时间状语从句,常见用法如下:
      用于肯定句,句子或主句的谓语动词必须是延续性动词,表示句子或主句的动作一直延续到until所表示的时间为止
      用于否定句,构成结构,意为“直到……才”,句子或主句的谓语动词通常是非延续性动词,表示句子或主句的动作直到until所表示的时间才发生

      (2)clearly作副词,意为“清楚地”,修饰动词时常后置,其比较级为mre clearly。I can't hear his music clearly because hesings t quickly.我听不清楚他的歌,因为他唱得太快了。Dn't turn dwn the radi, all f us want tlisten much mre clearly. 不要关小收音机,我们都想听得更清楚一些。

      pressure作名词,意为“压力”。under pressure意为“在压力下”put pressure n sb意为“向某人施压”
