      Sanjiangyuan, meaning “the surce f three rivers”, is an area in Nrthwest China’s Qinghai Prvince and an imprtant part f the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (青藏高原). It is hme t the headwaters f China’s three majr rivers: the Yellw River, Yangtze River and Lancang River.
      During the past 20 years, Sanjiangyuan Natinal Nature Reserve has seen great changes and prgress.
      Tsewen Drje, an envirnmental prtectin wrker in Qinghai Prvince, said that because f illegal mining (非法采矿) in the 1990s, a large part f the land was desertified (沙化).
