“Dn’t be t hard n yurself!” Tm said. “Althugh yu pushed their player, it was just an accident. Everyne knws that!”Tm was a gd friend. But Matt knew the referee didn’t share Tm’s pinin. When the referee saw Matt push anther player, he gave the ther team tw free thrws. Matt was as shcked as anyne else when the accident happened, but it was t late. He culdn’t take it back.“I guess we have t respect his decisin,” Matt said after a while. “But we had a gd chance t win until I made that mistake. Why wasn’t I mre careful? ”
“Listen, Matt, “said Tm, “try t lk n the bright side. The ther team is the best in ur area, but ur scres were really clse.I’m prud f us, and I knw ur cach and everyne else in ur schl are as well.”Matt felt a bit better. “Thanks, Tm. I guess it’s just hard t lse.”“Hey, yu can’t win them all, “said Tm. “It’s mre imprtant t learn frm yur mistakes s that yu dn’t repeat them in future. We’ll keep wrking tgether as a team. One fr all, and all fr ne, right?”“Yu’re right. If we pull tgether, we shuld win next time,” Matt smiled. He was lucky t have a friend like Tm!
