      连词 althugh,s that,until,if的用法
      1 althugh
      虽然,尽管,即使,可放于句中或句首,引导让步状语从句,同义词:thugh
      Althugh it was raining, we went fr a walk. 虽然下着雨,我们还是去散步了
      We went fr a walk althugh it was raining. 我们去散步了,尽管当时下着雨
      重要注意事项:不能与 but 连用
      在英语中,althugh 和 but 都表示转折关系,不能在同一句话中同时使用,只能二者选一。
      错误:Althugh he was tired, but he kept wrking.
      正确:Althugh he was tired, he kept wrking.
      正确:He was tired, but he kept wrking.
      2 until 到...时,直到...为止
      ①作介词,后面可加名词或时间点
      The shp is pen until 9 P.M. 这家店一直营业到晚上9点。
      We waited until midnight. 我们一直等到午夜。
      ②作连词,后加句子,引导时间状语从句。
      Please wait here until I cme back. 请在这里等到我回来。
      Let's wait until the rain stps. 我们等到雨停吧。
      He didn't speak until everyne was quiet. 直到大家都安静下来,他才开始说话。
      理解until要注意主句动词的持续性
      理解 until 用法的关键在于判断主句中的动词是 持续性动词 还是 瞬间性动词。
      ①. 主句为肯定句时
      通常使用持续性动词(如 wait, stay, wrk, live, sleep等),表示动作“一直持续到”某个时间点为止。
      I will stay here until yu return. (对)我会待在这里直到你回来。
      He wrked until dawn. (对)他一直工作到黎明。
      常见错误:在肯定句中误用瞬间动词。
      I will start until 8 ‘clck.(错)start(开始)是瞬间动作,不能“持续”到8点。
      正确表达:I will start at 8 ’clck. 我将在8点开始。
      ②. 主句为否定句时 ()
      通常使用瞬间性动词(如 start, finish, leave, arrive, pe等),表示动作“直到...才”发生。这是“”结构的核心含义。
      The children did nt g t bed until their mther came hme. 孩子们直到妈妈回家才上床睡觉。
      The mvie wn't start until 7:30. 电影直到七点半才开始。
      I didn't realize the truth until he tld me. 直到他告诉我,我才意识到真相。
      3 s that
      ①引导目的状语从句(主要用法)
      这是 s that 最常见、最核心的用法,表示“为了...”,“以便...”。
      结构:主句 + s that + 目的从句
      引导目的从句的特点:常含情态动词:从句中通常包含 can, culd, will, wuld, may, might 等情态动词,这是判断其表示目的的重要标志。
      翻译:通常可以翻译为“为了...”,“以便...”。
      I study hard s that I can pass the exam. 我努力学习,以便能通过考试。
      He spke slwly s that everyne wuld understand him. 他说得很慢,为了让每个人都能听懂。
      Please turn dwn the music s that I can sleep. 请把音乐关小点,好让我能睡觉。
      ②引导结果状语从句
      表示“因此”,“以至于”,说明主句动作导致的结果。
      引导结果状语从句的特点:无情态动词:从句中通常没有 can/culd 等情态动词,而是使用一般时态。
      翻译:可以翻译为“因此”,“以至于”。
      The bx was very heavy, s that n ne culd mve it. 箱子非常重,以至于没人能搬动它。(*注意:此句虽有culd,但表示的是“能力”而非“目的”,故是结果状语。)

      ①如果,假如,引导条件状语从句。此时,从句通常用一般现在时表示一般将来时。
      结构:If + 一般现在时, 主句(will/can/may/must等 + 动词原形)
      If it rains tmrrw, we will cancel the picnic. 如果明天下雨,我们将取消野餐。
      If yu study hard, yu will pass the exam. 如果你努力学习,你就会通过考试。
      If he has time, he may cme t the party. 如果他有时间,他可能会来参加派对。
      ②If 的其他重要用法,表示“是否”,引导宾语从句。
