althugh 的用法
althugh 作从属连词,意为“虽然;尽管;然而”,引导让步状语从句,可放在主句前,也可放在主句后,相当于thugh,它们都不能和but连用,但可以与yet, still同时使用。eg: ① Althugh/Thugh sleep is s imprtant, many peple these days are nt getting enugh. ② He ften helps me with my English, althugh/thugh he is quite busy. ③ Althugh the machine is ld, it still runs well. =The machine is ld, but it still runs well.
until作连词,意为“直到”,引导的时间状语从句。 用于肯定句,表示“直到为止”,主句的谓语动词一般是延续性 动词,强调动作持续到某个时间点。eg: ① She wrked until 11:00. ② The little girl waited until her mther came back.
常见延续性动词: stay, wait, wrk, study, keep, be, sleep, read 等
until作连词,意为“直到”,引导的时间状语从句。 用于否定句,表示“直到才”,主句的谓语动词一般是非延续性 动词,强调主句的动作在从句的动作发生之后才开始。eg: He didn’t leave until the rain stpped. 如果主句是一般将来时,从句要用一般现在时表示将来。eg: He will stay here until the rain stps.
常见非延续性动词:start, begin, cme, g, leave, arrive, pen, clse, finish 等
引导目的状语从句,意为“以便,为了”,一般放在主句后,且不用 逗号隔开,相当于in rder that,从句谓语中多含有can、culd、may、 might等情态动词。eg: The girl wrks harder s that she can get int a high schl. 还可以引导结果状语从句,意为“因此,所以”。 此时从句谓语中 通常不含情态动词。eg: He gt up late, s that he missed the bus.
意为“如此... 以至于... ”,常用来引导结果状语从句。 s ... that... 结构有时可与 t ... t...(太...而不能...),nt... enugh t d... (做某事不够...) 结构互换。eg: The by is s yung that he cannt dress himself. =The by is t yung t dress himself. =The by is nt ld enugh t dress himself.
s……that…… 的用法
引导条件状语从句,意为 “如果, 假如”。 时态:主将从现,主情从现,主祈从现,主现从现 (描述客观事实、 自然规律、普遍真理或习惯性行为)。位置灵活: 从句在前,用逗号 隔开;从句在后,不用逗号。eg: Yu will get gd grades if yu wrk hard. Yu shuld study hard if yu want t make yur dream cme true. If yu're happy, please clap yur hands.
If the sun sets, it gets dark.
引导宾语从句,意为 “是否”,相当于 whether,常用于 ask, knw, wnder, want t knw 等动词后,充当宾语。eg: He asks if I like Jurney t the West.
