过去进行时 (Past cntinuus tense)
过去进行时态一般表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作。动作的时间可以用介词短语、副词或从句来表示，也可由上下语境暗示。
e.g. I was riding my bicycle by the river arund nn.My hand and knee were bleeding.
1. 过去进行时的构成
过去进行时的构成是“was/were + v-ing”。过去进行时常与表示过去的时间状语连用（当上下文有时间暗示时，也可以省去时间状语）。
（1）表示在过去某个时间点正在进行的动作。
e.g. What were yu ding at 10:00 last night?
The children were playing in the garden when a giant appeared.
（2）表示过去某一时段正在进行的动作。
e.g. During that time, I was playing tennis a lt.
They didn't g t the beach tday because it was raining.
肯定句：主语+was/were+动词现在分词(+其他) I was sleeping at 10 p.m. last night.否定句：主语+was/were+nt+动词现在分词(+其他) I was nt sleeping at 10 p.m. last night.
一般疑问句：Was/Were+主语+动词现在分词(+其他)?肯定回答：Yes, 主语+was/were.否定回答：N, 主语+wasn't/weren't(was+nt/were+nt).
e.g. Were yu sleeping at 10 p.m. last night?Yes, I was./N, I wasn't.
特殊疑问句：特殊疑问词+was/were+主语+动词现在分词(+其他)?
e.g. What were yu ding at 10 p.m. last night?
注意：有些动词通常不用于进行时，主要有：1. 表示心理状态、情感的动词，如lve、hate、like、 knw等。2. 部分连系动词，如seem、appear等。
3. 感官动词，如see、hear、feel、smell、sund、taste等。4. 短暂性动词，如decide、stp等。
