2. Cultivate students' ability t prnunce wrds accurately accrding t prnunciatin rules.
3. Imprve students' sensitivity t English prnunciatin and enhance their sense f English language.

Master the prnunciatin rules f the vwel letters "a", "e", "i", "", "u" in pen and clsed syllables.
Be able t crrectly distinguish between vwel sunds in different wrds.
Teaching difficulties:
Let students understand and use prnunciatin rules t prnunce unfamiliar wrds.

Step 1 Imprt
1. Play a simple English Sng, such as "The Alphabet Sng", and let students sing alng t liven up the class atmsphere.
2. Shw sme wrds with vwels, such as "cat", "cake", "pen", "pig", "ht", "hme", etc., and let the students try t read them t bserve the prnunciatin f the lessn, and give ut the theme f this lessn --prnunciatin.
Step 2 Knwledge Explanatin
1. Explain the prnunciatin f the vwel "a"
Shw the wrds "cat", "bag", "hat" and ask students t bserve and summarize the prnunciatin f "a" in these wrds as [æ], pinting ut that this is the cmmn prnunciatin f "a" in clsed syllables.
Then shw the wrds "cake", "name" and "face", guide the students t find that the prnunciatin f "a" in these wrds is [ei], indicating that this is the cmmn prnunciatin f "a" in the pen syllable.
Example: "apple" ([æ]), "late" ([ei])
2. Explain the prnunciatin f the vwel "e"
Present the wrds "bed," "pen," "desk," and have students summarize hw the "e" in these wrds is prnunced as [e], which is hw the "e" is prnunced in clsed syllables.
Then shw "me", "he", "she", and lead the student t cnclude that the "e" in the pen syllable is prnunced as [i:].
Example: "egg" ([e]), "these" ([i:])
3. Explain the prnunciatin rules f the vwel letters "i", "" and "u" in pen and clsed syllables in the same way.
"i" is prnunced in clsed syllables, such as "big", "pig"; Prnunce [ai] in pen syllables, such as "bike", "like".
Instead, the "" is prnunced in the clsed syllable (as in "dg", "ht"); In pen syllables, like "g," "hme."
"u" is immediately unleashed in clsed syllables, such as "cup" and "bus"; Prnunce [ju:] in pen syllables, such as "use", "cute".
Step 3 Practice cnslidatin
1. The teacher reads ut sme wrds and asks the students t judge whether the vwels are prnunced as pen r clsed syllables and say the sunds. Fr example: "cake" (pen syllable, [ei]), "hat" (clsed syllable, [æ]).
2. Give sme wrds and ask students t read the wrds accrding t the prnunciatin rules, such as "tape", "mat", "bike", "sit", "nte", "nt", "tube", "cut" and s n.
3. Grup activities: Divide the students int grups, each grup gives a grup f wrds cntaining vwels, and ask the ther grups t judge the prnunciatin and read it ut t see which grup is fast and accurate.
Step 4 Game Sessin
1. "Wrd guess" game: the teacher writes a wrd cntaining vwel letters n the blackbard, but des nt shw the prnunciatin f the vwel letters, and asks students t guess the prnunciatin f the vwel letters by asking questins, such as: Is the vwel letter 'a' prnunced as [æ]? The team that guesses crrectly gets pints.
2. "Find friends" game: Prepare sme cards with wrds written n them and grup the wrds with the same vwel sund. Let students quickly find the "friends" with the same prnunciatin and deepen their memry f the prnunciatin rules.
Step 5 Summary
1. Review with students the prnunciatin rules f the vwels "a", "e", "i", "" and "u" in pen and clsed syllables.
2. Stress the imprtance f crrect prnunciatin and encurage students t practice mre after class.
Step 6 Assignment
1. Ask students t read the wrds in the textbk after they g hme, and summarize mre wrds that cnfrm t the prnunciatin rules.
2. Make an audi recrding f yurself reading the wrds and send it t yur teacher.
