      Tall, lng-necked giraffes are famus fr their spts which are believed t help the animals hide frm their enemies. Just like n tw humans have the same fingerprints, each giraffe has its wn special pattern f spts. Hwever, a Tennessee z made the headlines recently after it welcmed ne f the wrld's mst uncmmn giraffes.
      On July 31, a baby giraffe was brn at Brights Z with light brwn fur, which is a reticulated(网状的) giraffe, ne f the fur different kinds f giraffes. Unlike mst giraffes, she was brn withut spts, a unique feature f the reticulated giraffe. At six feet tall, this baby giraffe is grwing well under her mther's care. She shws typical baby giraffe behavir.
      Experts said the yung giraffe was the nly single-clred reticulated giraffe living anywhere n the planet. The last time this happened was 1972 in Japan. A giraffe's pattern f spts is created when the animal is still grwing inside its mther. That means that this giraffe will never have spts.
      “The new giraffe might nt have survived if she had been brn in the wild. Being single-clred, she may nt be able t hide very well,” said Mr. David Bright, wh runs the z, “It will easily be a key target fr pachers(偷猎者) because she's s unusual.”
      Brights Z stressed that reticulated giraffes had already becme imperiled. In 2018, they were fficially listed as “threatened”. Thirty-five years ag, there were 36,000 reticulated giraffes. Nw, the number has been cut by mre than 50%. Only abut 16,000 reticulated giraffes remain.
