The ppulatin f the wrld cntinues t increase, but in sme areas the ppulatin is falling. This is true in Eurpe and especially in Eastern Eurpe. In Russia, the ppulatin is ging dwn by abut 100peple EVERY HOUR! Russia's ppulatin culd fall by ONE THIRD by the year 2050! And in Pland(波兰)the ppulatin is als ging dwn because peple are leaving t wrk in ther cuntries.
One f the main reasns is a change f lifestyle. All ver Eurpe, peple, especially educated wmen, have a different attitude(态度) t children frm their parents. “I have ne child and she is enugh fr me,” said Galina Tereschkva, a dctr frm Mscw. “My husband and I bth wrk full-time. We can't imagine having mre than ne child.”Many wmen decide t have children later in life r nt t have children at all.“I dn't want t have any children until I have wrked fr at least 10 years,” said a 19-year-ld student Hana Markva frm Prague. Her pinin is typical f 18~24-year-ld wmen everywhere in Eurpe.
Hw many children des Galina Tereschkva want t have?
Step 1 画出问题中的关键词——疑问词、人物、事件等重要信息;
Step 2 使用关键词到文中定位,找到对应句,画出来;

3.What is the prblem f wrking ut withut smene else in persn?
What des Hana Markva want t d befre she has children?
__________________________________________________
Step 1
Wuld yu like yu yu yu ging t...?
(回答Yes/N.)

Schl Life Made Easier
Making schl life simpler and mre cnvenient is becming a reality with the use f technlgy, especially in China where many schls are using inventins like AI.

In classes, students get hands-n experience using simulatin (模拟) devices and VR glasses, explring rcket launches and the structure inside rckets thrugh fun and interactive (互动的) learning. Similarly, in swimming classes, “By wearing smart earphnes, they can receive real-time instructins frm the cach underwater, making sure it’s safe, ” Li Rui, the schl’s vice-principal, tld CCTV.
At a schl in Anhui, technlgy is imprving PE classes. Self-testing tls with AI visual analysis (可视化分析) technlgy are used fr activities like running, jumping, sit-ups, and skipping rpe. A facial recgnitin system recrds students’ faces, allwing them t receive perfrmance results immediately after each exercise. “Befre, when I threw the sht put (铅球), the teacher had t use a ruler t measure the distance. Nw, the results are prduced autmatically (自动地). Yu can als see which parts f yur exercise need imprvements, with the teacher then helping t guide yu t make thse imprvements, ” said Wu Shenggu frm the schl.

Universities wrldwide are als using AI t create helpful digital assistants (助手). A cllege in the UK intrduced a chat rbt. It prvides students with infrmatin abut attendance recrds, curses, and class timetables, making it easier fr students t manage their schl lives.

(2024·北京西城·一模)The summer f 2023 saw recrd-breaking heatwaves acrss many parts f the wrld. As temperatures cntinue t rise, the effect f carbn emissins (碳排放) n the envirnment has becme a big prblem. Studies shw the travel industry is respnsible fr abut 10% f these emissins, with air travel alne causing abut 2. 8% f them.
T address this prblem, Intrepid—a travel cmpany, has suggested a “carbn passprt” in its recent reprt. The idea behind it is that each traveler wuld have a yearly carbn limit, and nbdy can g ver that limit. Using carbn passprts means travelers will have t take fewer flights t lwer their “carbn ftprint”—the CO2 emissins frm their actins. At present, the carbn ftprint f each persn is abut fur tns yearly n average (平均). T limit temperature rise t acceptable levels by 2050, ur gal shuld be belw tw tns.
In line with this gal, sme Eurpean cuntries are taking steps t reduce air travel. In France, lcal flights are canceled if the same trips can be made by train in 2. 5 hurs r less. In Belgium, additinal charges (收费) are added t shrt-distance flights t encurage ther frms f travel.
Intrepid cnsiders the idea f a “carbn passprt” effective with mre peple invlved in. Travelers will receive infrmatin abut their carbn ftprints and change their travel habits. And businesses will be pushed t use mre green practices. Alex Hawkins, ne f the writers f the reprt, says, “These passprts will make us think mre abut hw ur trips influence the envirnment.”
When it cmes t mnitring everyne’s carbn emissin, Anna Abelsn, a prfessr f the New Yrk University thinks it wuld be a challenge in terms f lgistics (统计). “Getting everyne n bard with carbn passprts wn’t be easy.” Hawkins added, “It wuld need supprt frm lts f different peple and grups all ver the wrld.” Hwever, even with the challenges, the idea f carbn passprts shws the need fr us t take actin tgether t fight climate change and make travel ec-friendlier.
