      Hell everybdy. In tday’s class, I’m ging t intrduce the bk The Secret Garden. It’s written by Frances Hdgsn Burnett. (17) She was an English-American nvelist and a playwriter, best knwn fr her three children’s nvels, A Little Princess, The Secret Garden and Little Lrd Fauntlery.
      The Secret Garden is abut a girl named Mary Lennx wh is unpleasant and spiled. She livesin India first. (18) Then she is taken t live with her uncle Archibald Craven in England after the sudden death f her parents. Mary meets Martha, a servant girl with a thick Yrkshire accent. Later, Mary and Martha becme friends as they learn mre abut each ther. Martha even buys Mary a jump rpe as a gift. One day, Mary discvers that there is a secret garden. With the help f a rbin, which is a bird, she enters the garden. She and Dickn, Martha’s brther, (19) plan n taking Clin, wh is Mr. Craven’s sn, t the secret garden. Clin is wheeled int the garden and is amazed by the plants and the pen air. After that, there is a change in his persnality. What’s mre, he becmes strnger and much healthier. In the end, Clin can run. (20)
