▶Much better.（好多了）= 比之前的状况好得多much是程度副词，专门用来加强比较级的语气，翻译为“…… 得多”，放在比较级前，不可放在后。例：—Hw are yur eyes? 你的眼睛怎么样了？ —Much better. 好多了。

▶help 既可以作及物动词（+宾语，表 “帮助某人 / 某物”），也可以作不及物动词（无宾语，表 “起到帮助作用、有用”），本句为不及物用法，是口语中描述 “某物有用” 的高频表达。例：不及物：They help a lt. （它们帮了大忙 / 它们很有用）及物：The lift helps my grandma a lt.（电梯帮了我奶奶大忙。）▶a lt是副词短语，放在实义动词后作程度状语，修饰动词的动作程度，翻译为“很、非常、大大地”，本句中修饰 help，表“帮助的程度很大”。

▶indeed为程度副词，表“确实、实在、真正地”，位置灵活，作用是强化肯定语气，本句强调 “道路过去确实窄”。例：They were indeed ld in the past. 它们过去确实很旧。▶narrw：形容词，表“狭窄的”，反义词为wide“宽阔的”。▶in the past表“在过去”，是一般过去时的标志性时间状语，通常放句末，遇到它时，句子谓语需用过去式。对比现在：in the past（过去）→ nw/tday（现在，对应一般现在时）
