      On the night f May 17th, fur teens, Aiden Kane, Mrgan Randall, Dnat Jellenichr, and Tyler Sdj, decided t leave a dance party early and g t a friend’s huse. Thankfully, they did because n the way there, Mrgan saw a huse’s attached garage (车库) n fire. The teens stpped a safe distance away frm the huse and tk actin.
      Aiden, wh had a camera running, ran t check if anyne was inside. He kncked n the dr and was shcked t see tw girls and their dad still in the building. “Yur huse is n fire!” the teen shuted. “Yu have t get ut!”
      While Aiden was rushing the family ut, Dnat called 911, and Tyler gt near the fire t listen fr cries — in case anyne was trapped in the garage. When he didn’t hear r see anyne, he walked tward the part f the huse that hadn’t caught fire yet. When he did, he heard lud sunds and the garage seemed t explde (爆炸).
      Aiden gt the kids and led them t his car. He calmly tld the girls, “Yu’re kay.” Then Mrgan tk ver. She hugged the kids and tld them nt t wrry while Aiden went back fr their dad.

      Maynard Fire Chief Jared Pearl says Tyler is right abut that. “If they didn’t get everyne ut and call 911, it may have been three t fur minutes befre we gt there. And by then, the huse wuld have been burned t the grund,” he says.

The site, hme t the 15 twering mai statues, draws tens f thusands f visitrs each year and is a crnerstne f the island’s turism ecnmy. Beynd its ecnmic value, Ahu Tngariki is a symbl f Rapa Nui’s cultural identity. It lies within Rapa Nui Natinal Park, which cvers much f the island and is recgnized as a UNESCO Wrld Heritage site.
      While the study centers n Rapa Nui, its findings reflect a wider reality: Cultural heritage sites wrldwide are increasingly endangered by rising seas.       The cncern extends beynd lst playtime. T much smartphne use can als lead t anxiety, attentin prblems, and sleep disrder, accrding t the UK-based rganizatin Smartphne Free Childhd. The rganizatin, which was funded in 2024 and includes mre than 350,000 parents, has the gal f putting ff the time when children start t use smartphnes.
      In ne schl in Oxfrdshire, students lck their phnes away during the day, and teachers reprt calmer classrms. “We used t get sad and angry because f smething n ur smartphnes. But nw ur presence f mind is in schl and we can study better,” said a student at the smartphne-free schl.
