The stry takes place in ne scene, the Yu Tai Teahuse, frm the late Qing Dynasty t the 1940s.The play includes mre than 60 interesting characters frm all walks f life. Thrugh them, the readers get t see hw mdern Chinese sciety changes. The mst imprtant character is Wang Lifa, manager f the teahuse. He gets alng well with peple and keeps the teahuse running in the changing times. Hwever, life turns t difficult and Wang chses t end his life.
