Fungi add interest t a garden and benefit the sil. “Yu can take yur kit and put it in the garden where it will then get yu mre nutrients fr yur sil,” said Caley. “We’ve installed an utside mushrm bed, and nine different mushrms can be grwn in seven different mediums. One day in 1996, smene ate a McDnald’s McChicken burger in Amsterdam. Perhaps a quick bite after wrk? A family uting? These details are lst t time, but thers are hard t erase cmpletely. While a bird’s nest is usually made frm twigs (细枝) and mss, the abundance f plastics has been helpful fr birds in the city where natural items are in shrt supply. Hiemstra said there wuld likely be a return f natural nests if peple fcused n re-greening cities and bringing natural water vegetatin back, but in the meantime, the birds were successfully wrking with what they had.
“Fr the cts, ur litter is nt a waste prduct but smething very valuable. Finding these materials that were littered 30 years ag, yet they lk as fresh as they were just littered yesterday, really gave me the chills. I really hpe we can learn smething frm the birds t re-evaluate hw we think abut ur materials. These plastics are a wnderful material, yet we use them fr single use and thrw them away,” Hiemstra said.
28.What des the McChicken wrapper in the ct’s nest indicate?

I’m in a meeting when my phne starts t flash with ntificatins. While the meeting is imprtant, I’m distracted and want t pick up the phne t find ut mre. Is it a new jb annuncement frm a friend? Smething terrible has happened? Every secnd I’m nt sending a message, I’m being a bad friend. I becme anxius, and I’m praying the meeting ends sner.
It is the emtinal rllercaster ride f being a mdern grup chat member, and I’m nt alne in these feelings. Research cnducted by Three fund 50% f British adults struggle t keep up with the speed f these virtual cnversatins and feel pressured. But why exactly des this ccur?

Fr Madhura, 31, this has felt particularly exasperating at times. “I find messaging in grup chats can make yu feel like yu’re nt quite n the same page. Grup chats can turn friendly jkes int hurtful messages. A grup chat may be used t gssip abut a friend wh’s nt there. Leaving a grup chat can als feel like yu’re creating an pprtunity fr thse wh are left t gssip abut yu,” Madhura says.
“Texting is such a ‘thin’ frm f cmmunicatin. In persn, yu have tne f vice, facial expressins, and eye cntact — all the rich human signals that help us interpret meaning. On a screen, yu just get the wrds themselves,” Rawlinsn explains. “S dn’t fall int a pit f self-criticism when a message ges withut a reply. Grup chats can’t truly measure yur friendships. They’re just a tl t stay cnnected.”
32.What is becming a cmmn phenmenn?
A.Grup chats blck in-depth talks.B.Grup chats break up friendships.
C.Grup chats bring negative emtins.D.Grup chats disturb the wrk-life balnce.
33.What mainly trubles Jasmine abut grup chats?
      A.Privacy cncerns.B.Infrmatin verlad.
      C.Sense f islatin.D.Fear f misunderstanding.
34.What des the underlined wrd “exasperating” in paragraph 5 prbably mean?
      A.Annying.B.Frightening.C.Inspiring.D.Amusing.
35.What des Rawlinsn suggest peple d?
A.Reduce grup chat usage.B.Learn new cmmunicatin skills.
      C.Treat grup chats prperly.D.Fcus n face-t-face cnversatins.

I grew up in the small twn f Willwbrk. During the week, I wuld g t schl, but at the weekends, I played basketball. Playing with friends at the lcal park became ur Saturday traditin. We met every Saturday mrning, and thugh we started as a small grup, ur laughter and cheers sn drew curius glances frm passersby. But nt everyne was interested. Sme kids rlled their eyes, cmplaining abut us “taking up the curt,” and a few even walked away when we invited them t play. Still, the idea f expanding ur games stuck with me, and slwly, a few mre faces started shwing up.
As wrd spread, mre students came. Nt all f them stayed — sme left after realizing they weren’t as gd as they thught, and thers gt bred when the cmpetitin wasn’t serius enugh. But fr thse wh stayed, it became special. The park bench filled up, and the curt buzzed with energy. We divided int teams, with naturals like Mark and newcmers like Alex.
Alex was a quiet, slightly verweight guy with a shy smile. Even thugh he hesitated a lt, he still wanted t play. I remember Mark snickering (窃笑), “Yu sure abut this?” Alex ndded, with hesitatin in his eyes.
The games grew mre intense as mre players jined, and the cmpetitin heated up. But what truly std ut was the sense f camaraderie (友爱) — at least, mst f the time. Alex struggled, ut f breath, missing passes. Once, after a rugh play, he walked ff, embarrassed. I thught he might quit. But he returned.
I paired him with a friend f mine wh was mre patient. His prgress was slw — there were sme imprvements, then sme setbacks. Despite this, Alex kept shwing up ver the fllwing mnths. He wasn’t the best player, but he wasn’t the wrst anymre.Paragraph ne:
One Saturday, as the sun rse higher in the sky, the game reached its climax.
