There are different kinds f steamed buns in Chinese fd. One f them is xialngba.
The name “xialngba” refers t the buns which are cked in a small bamb basket. Usually, xialngba are filled with prk that is cut int pieces. But prk isn’t always the nly ingredient (原料). He was an utstanding diplmat, traveler and explrer in the Han Dynasty f China, hnred as the “the first Chinese t pen their eyes t see the wrld” and “the Clumbus f the east”.
In 138 BC, at the reign f Emperr Wudi, Zhang Qian was sent t the west f China fr an alliance with the Yue-chi peple t fight against the Xingnu. He started his trip frm Chang’an (nw Xi’an in Shaanxi Prvince) t Lngxi (in Gansu Prvince). Alng the way, n matter hw difficult the envirnment was, his faith was firm. But unfrtunately, Zhang was caught by the Xingnu peple just as he left Han, and was held prisner fr ten years.
Zhang finally managed t escape with sme f his men and cntinued t travel west withut any dry fd r drinking water. When Zhang at last reached the Yue-chi in Nrthern India, he was disappinted t find that they didn’t want t fight against the Xingnu peple.
