    Stevie lked up, greatly surprised. He thught he’d been invisible. “I’m nt s sure,” he smiled weakly. But Mr Taylr came up t him, patted him n the arm firmly and, befre he culd refuse, said “Let’s d it." The bys gathered arund. Then Stevie and Mr Taylr checked each ther’s straps—the way they had been taught. With everything ready, Mr Taylr began t make his way up. Watching carefully as the teacher climbed, Stevie culd feel his heart punding fast and his palms sweating. Finally, Mr Taylr reached the tp, and the whle place burst int cheering.
    “Ready t let me dwn?” Mr Taylr called dwn t Stevie. Stevie tk a deep breath and reviewed what Rick had taught them abut hw t use the belaying device. At last, he lked up and said ludly, “OK!" Then the teacher let g f the wall and began t walk dwn. Stevie let the rpe slip thrugh his hands bit-by-bit cautiusly and watched the teacher’s mvement clsely.
