现在分词作状语可以表示时间、原因、条件、让步、结果、程度、方式或伴随等，且可以转换成相应的状语从句或并列句中的一个分句。

2. 原因状语现在分词作原因状语，一般位于句首，相当于as, since, because 等引导的原因状语从句。

3. 条件状语现在分词作条件状语，一般位于句首，相当于if, unless等引导的条件状语从句。

4. 让步状语现在分词作让步状语，相当于thugh, even if等引导的条件状语从句。

5. 结果状语现在分词作结果状语，表示必然的结果。它常常位于句末，可转换成and连接的并列成分。

6. 方式或伴随状语现在分词作方式或伴随状语，分词的动作和谓语动词的动作同时发生。表示方式或伴随的现在分词(短语)可转换成and连接的并列分句。
