本课为北师大版七年级上册第四单元第十二课。单元话题：Interests and Skills本课话题：China’s Gt Talent本文介绍了“2010年中国达人秀”冠军刘伟的技能与成就。刘伟虽失去了双臂但却会写歌、弹钢琴，还会游泳，并因在“中国达人秀”夺冠而闻名世界。本文是一篇人物传记，主要运用情态动词can来描述刘伟的技能和成就，运用cannt来表达刘伟取得成功的困难和艰辛。在教授知识同时，告诉学生要不怕困难。
本课的授课对象为阳坊中学七年级1班学生，共24人。已有知识和经验：1.通过对本单元Getting Ready部分以及Lessn10 和Lessn11的学习，学生对 Interests and Skills这个话题并不陌生；2.学生在小学阶段就已经了解can和can’t的含义，在Less11中也对can有了进一步的感知，能够读懂含有该词的句子；3.学生能够读懂简单的文章，会从文中找出相关信息词，并得到相应答案；未有知识：1. 学生对情态动词can后面要用动词原形的用法并不明确；2. 学生不能深刻体会到坚强的意志力对自己人生的意义和作用。
