Watching sprts fsters a sense f belnging amng audiences, making individuals feel gd and benefiting sciety. Althugh it is ppularly recgnized fr its psitive effects, existing studies n the relatinship between watching sprts and well-being ffer nly limited evidence.
Recgnizing this gap, a team led by Assciate Prfessr Shintar Sat frm Waseda
University embarked n a grundbreaking piece f research. “A significant challenge in
well-being research is the subjective nature f measurement prcedures, ptentially leading t biased findings. Therefre, we undertk a series f studies using a multi-methd apprach, cmbining secndary data analysis, self-reprts and neurimaging measures,” explains Sat.
In the first study, the researchers analyzed large-scale publicly available data n the
influence f watching sprts n 20,000 residents. The results cnfirmed the nging pattern f
elevated reprted well-being assciated with regular sprts viewing. Hwever, this study was
limited by its inability t prvide deeper insight int the relatinship between sprts viewing and well-being.
The secnd study, an nline survey aimed at investigating whether the cnnectin between sprts viewing and well-being varies depending n the type f sprt watched, invlved 208
participants. The experiment expsed them t varius sprts vides, assessing their well-being bth befre and after viewing them. The findings underlined widely embraced sprts exerted a mre significant impact n enhancing well-being cmpared t less ppular sprts.
Hwever, the mst grundbreaking findings emerged frm the third study. Here, the team emplyed neurimaging techniques t scrutinize changes in brain activity f furteen participants while they watched sprts clips. The results illuminated sprts viewing triggered activatin in the
brain’s reward circuit, indicative f feelings f happiness. Additinally, they revealed individuals reprting watching sprts mre frequently exhibited greater gray matter vlume in regins
assciated with reward circuits, suggesting regular sprts viewing may gradually induce changes in brain structures, which fsters lng-term benefits.
The study has prfund implicatins and theretical cntributins t sprts management
literature. Existing literature has primarily fcused n sprts fans, but this study has taken int
cnsideratin a larger general ppulatin irrespective f their relatinship t sprts viewing. This research can cntribute significantly t sprts management practices and plicymaking fr public health.
8 .What is the primary fcus f the research?
A .The ppularity f different sprts amng viewers.
      B .The effective appraches t measuring well-being.
      C .The psitive impacts f playing sprts n well-being.
D .The cnnectin between viewing sprts and well-being.
9 .Hw did the researchers cnduct the first study?
A .By ding a survey nline.
      B .By analyzing previus data.
      C .By using neurimaging methds.
D .By interviewing peple face t face.

Over the past few years, I have fund myself turning t audibks (有声读物) as my main means f reading literature. After a day f lking at my laptp, I find it mre cmfrtable t read
with my ears while my eyes are resting. My cnsumptin f news has dubled as a result, but a recent paper recmmended by my husband makes me wnder if this will cme at the price f my cmprehensin.
The study cmes frm Baz Keysar and Janet Geipel, bth at the University f Chicag,
and it draws a view that we have tw ways f assessing infrmatin frm the dual prcess mdel f mental prcessing. System 1 is intuitive (直觉的), relying n natural ability and feeling. It is
quick, but likely expsed t misinfrmatin. System 2 is analytical, invlving the use f lgical
reasning. It is mentally demanding. T take an example, cnsider the fllwing questin: hw
many animals f each kind did Mses take n the Ark (方舟)? If yu answered tw, yu were
prbably nly cnsidering the cre f the questin, which is System 1 thinking. T get t the right answer — zer, yu need t think mre carefully abut the wrding, which will allw yu t
remember it was Nah rather than Mses wh built the Ark. That is an analytical prcess.
Keysar and Geipel’s brilliant idea was t investigate whether the sensry frm — seeing vs hearing — f the infrmatin wuld make a difference. They fund that it did: When answering simple questins, participants were mre likely t make errrs when the sentences were spken
      rather than written.
A greater reliance n ur feeling culd be a prblem if we are cnsuming infrmatin that needs lgical study. Fr this reasn, I will return t reading nn-fictin with my eyes rather than my ears. But I wn’t stp listening t nvels. I am quite happy t g, with the flw f my
emtins while my critical mind takes a break.
12 .What des the authr think f listening t audibks?
A .It imprves her hearing. B .It cnsumes much time.
C .It gives her eyes a break. D .It slws her reading pace.
13 .Which f the fllwing can best describe System 2 thinking?
A .Relatively reliable. B .Fully autmatic.
      C .Time-saving. D .Emtin-invlved.
14 .Why is the Ark mentined in paragraph 2?
      A .T present a fact. B .T illustrate a view.
      C .T intrduce a tpic. D .T draw a cnclusin.
15 .What is the best title fr the text?
A .Reading nn-fictin bks benefits peple
B .Listening t bks cmes at a price
C .Critical thinking is a must in reading nvels
D .Audibks enjy great ppularity with peple

Since the Warring States Perid 其结构分别为“have/has been +现在分词”和
      “have/has +过去分词”,主语 it 是第三人称单数,所以用 has been playing 或 has played。
One f these relics One f these relics ,date back t

“I’ve gt an idea t keep us warm,” Alex smiled and cmfrted his sister. “We can dig a
snw hle like the fxes. It’ll trap heat and prtect us frm the bitter cld.” Lily’s eyes lit up with hpe. Tgether, they started digging int the snw, using their hands and whatever tls they
culd find. As they dug deeper, they felt the temperature arund them rising slightly. Finally, they cllapsed int the small snw cave they had created, hugging each ther tightly fr warmth.
After mre than tw hurs, their parents came t their rescue. Upn seeing the makeshift snw cave, their parents were bth relieved and impressed. “Yu tw are incredible,” their father said, his vice filled with pride. Lily and Alex were carefully pulled frm the snw cave and
wrapped in warm blankets. Sitting in the bservatry’s emergency shelter, they culdn’t help but smile at each ther, grateful fr the unbreakable bnd they shared. Frm that day n, they
