Scientists have discvered that tw different kinds f sea animals—rcas (虎鲸) and dlphins—may be wrking tgether t hunt fr salmn (三文鱼). Orcas and dlphins are bth clever, but it’s unusual fr tw different kinds f animals t cperate in this way.
Orcas, smetimes called “killer whales”, are the largest members f the dlphin family. Orcas are clever and strng, and are famus fr hunting in grups. They nrmally eat salmn—large, strng fish that can grw t be 1 meter lng r mre. Pacific white - sided dlphins, hwever, usually hunt smaller fish, and dn’t have the ability t catch salmn.
Researchers have ften seen these rcas and dlphins near each ther. Sme peple thught the dlphins might be using the rcas as prtectin against ther rcas that smetimes eat dlphins. But the recent study suggests that there is mre t it.
Scientists used drnes (无人机), underwater micrphnes, and cameras t study the animals. They fund that althugh rcas were the nes that actually caught the salmn, dlphins were ften leading the chase (追赶).
Bth animals send ut sunds and use the echs (回声) f thse sunds t find bjects. The researchers nticed that they tk turns sending ut clicking sunds fr echlcatin. The rcas may listen t the dlphins’ echs t find the salmn. The dlphins use their speed and echlcatin t find and chase salmn. The rcas fllw the dlphins and use their strength t catch the salmn.
Such teamwrk culd help bth: rcas get help finding and catching fd and dlphins eat leftvers (剩余物) frm the rcas’ meals. Nrmally, rcas keep ther animals away frm their fd. But they dn’t mind when the dlphins stay nearby when they are eating.
Nt everyne is sure that the animals are wrking tgether. The scientists plan t cntinue their studies. One thing they want t research is whether rcas that wrk with dlphins have mre success catching fish than rcas that hunt n their wn.
      21. What is the main idea f the passage?
      A. Orcas help dlphins find fd.B. Orcas and dlphins may hunt tgether.
      C. Orcas smetimes eat dlphins.D. Scientists study animals’ eating habits.
      22. Hw did the scientists study the animals’ hunting behavir?

      B. By reading ld research reprts.
      C. By living with them in the cean.
      D. By using special recrding tls.
      23. Why d rcas prbably wrk with dlphins?

      B. Dlphins can catch the salmn fr them.
      C. Dlphins can find and chase salmn first.
      D. Dlphins can prtect them while hunting.
