      Unit 1 Career talks第二课时(Reading)Understanding ideas. Saying goodbye to my years up high Class Type:Reading Teaching Aims: 1. Understand the story of Robert’s job experience. 2. Learn how to use the Passive Voice (Simple Present & Simple Future) to talk about work. 3. Use new words to talk about jobs and share your feelings. Key & Difficult Points: Key Points: 1. Understand the passage Saying goodbye to my years up high. 2. Master the structure of the Passive Voice. Difficult Point: Use the Passive Voice correctly in speaking and writing. Teaching Methods: Interactive approach (Group work & Pair work) Teaching Aids: Seewo , digital textbook Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Lead-in (5 mins) 1. Look at the picture and answer: Q1: Where is the man? Q2: What is he doing? Q3: What is his job? 2. Introduce the text: This is Robert. He will give a speech. Ask: Q1: What can you guess from the title? Q2: How does Robert feel about his job? 3. Show the class goals. Step 2: While-reading (20 min) Fast Reading: Read the passage and answer: What is the passage structure? Match the main idea with each part. Careful Reading: 1. Read Para 1 and answer the questions: Q1: How long did Robert work as a “spiderman”? Q2: What did these years give him? 2. Read Para 2-3: Fill in the table. 3. Read Para 4-5: Answer questions Q1: What did Robert get from this job? Q2: How does he talk about his job at last? Q3: Who does he give the speech to? Why? Step 3: Post-reading (10 mins) 1. Check & Analyze Choose the best summary (A3). Fill in the blanks with correct words, then check answers. 2. Think & Share Q1: Why does Robert say “That was the sweetest watermelon of my life”? Q2: What does the last paragraph mean? Step 4: Key Points (5 mins) 1. Teach the Passive Voice: - Simple Present: am/is/are + past participle - Simple Future: will be + past participle 2. Do exercises to practice. Step 5: Summary (3 mins) Review together: 1. The story of Robert. 2. The Passive Voice structure. 3. New words about jobs. Step 6: Homework (2 mins) Must: 1. Read the text and remember new words. 2. Finish exercises in the workbook.  Choose: 3. Write a short passage (50 words) about a meaningful job. Blackboard Design: Unit 1 Career talks. Saying goodbye to my years up high New Words: Passive Voice spiderman, Simple Present: am/is/are + done watermelon, Simple Future: will be + done meaningful, infer Robert’s job story → Love and respect every job Who did he meet? What happened to him? How did he feel?
