It was their first time living away frm their families, and they enjyed learning hw t d many things themselves.One Saturday, James decided t make fried chicken. First, he pured il int a pan. Then he turned n the stve and left the il t heat while he prepared the chicken. Just then, he heard the frnt dr pen, fllwed by the sund f Allen singing.

In secnds, the fire in the burning pan was put ut.“Are yu OK?” Allen asked his friend.“I think s,” James said. It was lucky that his shirt wasn’t t thin! His arm was red, but it didn’t hurt very much.“Maybe we shuld eat ut tnight,” James said as he ran cl water ver his arm.“Sure, we culd d that. What d yu want?”“Anything but fried chicken,” he said sadly.
