Rbtic dgs are expected t help transprt waste n Munt Tai in Tai’an, Shandng Prvince, cmbining high technlgy with envirnmental prtectin t deal with the grwing waste management challenges at this ppular turist destinatin.
As hikers climbed Munt Tai, they were attracted by a rbtic dg carrying waste n its back, under the cntrl f a technlgist. During the climb, the rbt dg bradcast (广播) messages t encurage visitrs t prtect the muntain’s envirnment, bringing jy t the tired hikers.
Munt Tai, a UNESCO Wrld Cultural and Natural Heritage site, welcmed 8.62 millin turists last year. The cmplex terrain (地形) makes waste transprtatin mre difficult. After studying different slutins, the gvernment believes that using rbtic helpers fr transprtatin is a gd chice.
Tests were carried ut ver three days at the base, middle and tp f the muntain. Equipped with a shelf and bx that can carry 30 t 40 kilgrams, the rbt dgs were tested fr climbing ability, carrying ability and emergency actin n the muntain’s hard terrain. Results shwed that they culd reach the tp f the muntain frm the base within tw hurs, while the average time fr adult turists nt carrying heavy things is abut fur hurs. The rbts can wrk fr fur t six hurs n a full charge (充满电).
During the tests, the rbtic dgs adapted t ver 80% f the muntain’s terrain, shwing hpeful results in waste transprtatin. They became a unique attractin, with many turists stpping t recrd mments with these lvely helpers. “I saw it climbing and tk a pht with it. It’s truly amazing,” said Wang Yang, a turist frm Heilngjiang Prvince. “It wuld be mre unbelievable if it culd carry peple up the muntain in the future.”
