Karanth became a cnservatin scientist in 1999, and a critical mment came in 2017 at the Natinal Gegraphic Sciety’s Explrers Festival. Speaking with fellw explrer Gabby Salazar, Karanth discvered that Salazar pssessed exceptinal educatinal expertise (专业知识) and had lng sught t apply it meaningfully. Karanth then suggested cmbining educatin, art, and games t recnnect rural children with wildlife.
Karanth’s suggestin immediately drew Salazar. Hpe this email finds yu well! Last Thursday mrning, ur schl rganized all Senir One students t visit the City Artificial Intelligence Lab. We gathered at the schl gate at 8 a.m. and arrived at the lab after a 20-minute bus ride. The sunny day added t ur excitement fr the tech tur.
In the lab, we first heard a lecture by Prfessr Chen, wh shwed AI rbts in heart surgeries. He explained hw they make precise mves—smaller than a hair! Next, we watched a self-driving car simulatin avid virtual bstacles. The best part was trying AI painting: I typed “a panda in space,” and the app made a funny image with a spacesuit-wearing panda. Everyne laughed at the cute result.
The visit cmpletely shifted my understanding f AI. What struck me mst was hw AI can turn imaginatin int reality. It inspired me t learn prgramming during summer break. D yu think AI will change the way we study in the future? Lking frward t yur reply.
