Smetimes, when we’re nt quite awake but nt fully asleep either, ur brains might be really gd at cming up with new ideas. A study fund that peple wh have a light sleep wuld be better at slving prblems later.

While they were resting, the researchers checked their brainwaves. They fund that mre than half f the peple didn’t fall asleep. But 24 peple did fall asleep and had a light sleep called N1. Anther 14 peple went int a deeper sleep called N2.
The researchers saw a great difference between the grups. The peple wh had a light sleep, the N1 stage, were abut 2.7 times mre likely t slve it than peple wh stayed awake. And they were abut 5.9 times mre likely t slve it than thse wh went int the deeper N2 sleep.
Hwever, mre wrk is needed t find ut the relatin between N1 and creativity. The results are interesting because they suggest that maybe we can learn hw t get int this light sleep stage n purpse.
It seems that Edisn knew smething abut hw being a bit sleepy can help us be mre creative. But dn’t think that yu shuld cpy his habits cmpletely. He als thught that sleeping was a waste f time.
