“Adults and even babies can easily make reliable inferences abut what drives ther peple’s actins,” said Dr. Mira Dilln, a researcher at New Yrk University. “Current AI finds these inferences challenging t make.”
The nvel idea f putting babies and AI head-t-head n the same tasks is allwing researchers t better describe babies’ natural knwledge abut ther peple and suggest ways f integrating that knwledge int AI.
“If AI aims t build flexible cmmnsense thinkers like human adults becme, then machines shuld draw upn the same cre abilities babies pssess in detecting gals and preferences,” Dr. Dilln said.
T develp a fundatinal understanding f the differences between humans’ and AI’s abilities; Dr. Dilln’s team cnducted a series f experiments with 11-mnth-ld babies and cmpared their respnses t thse prduced by state-f-the-art learning-driven AI mdels. Specifically, babies n Zm watched a series f vides f simple animated shapes mving arund the screen — similar t a vide game. The shapes’ actins simulated human behavir and decisin-making thrugh the retrieval (检索)f bjects n the screen and ther mvements. Similarly, the scientists built and trained learning-driven AI mdels and tested the mdels’ respnses t the exact same vides.
Their results shwed that babies recgnized human-like mtivatins even in the simplified actins f animated shapes. Babies predicted that these actins were driven by hidden but cnsistent gals — fr example, the n-screen retrieval f the same bject n matter what lcatin it was in and the mvement f that shape efficiently even when the surrunding envirnment changed.
Babies demnstrated such predictins by lking lnger at events that went against their predictins — a cmmn and decades-ld measurement fr evaluating the nature f babies’ knwledge. The AI mdels shwed n such evidence f understanding the mtivatins underlying such actins, revealing that they are missing key fundatinal principles f cmmnsense psychlgy that babies pssess.
“A human baby’s fundatinal knwledge is limited, abstract, and reflects ur evlutinary inheritance (进化遗传), yet it can accmmdate any cntext r culture in which that baby might live and learn,” Dr. Dilln said.

C. It will imprve cmputer science educatin.
D. It will reveal human behavir’s underlying mtivatins.
47. Hw did the researchers cmpare babies and AI in their study?
A. By judging their vide gaming skills.
B. By measuring their ability t recgnize patterns.
C. By assessing their respnses t the same stimuli.
D. By testing their understanding f real human actins.
48. In which paragraph can we learn abut the prcess f this study?
A Paragraph 3.B. Paragraph 4.C. Paragraph 5.D. Paragraph 6.
49. What did the babies d when they saw unexpected shape actins?
A. They just ignred them.B. They reacted t them later.
C. They spent mre time bserving them.D. They cmpared them with earlier predictins.
50. What des the last paragraph imply abut human intelligence?
A. It varies culturally.B. It is highly adaptable.
C. It is determined at birth.D. It is at peak in early adulthd.
D

Thse wh d need t get in tuch, message me. I check my messages when I am in between wrk tasks, and respnd when I can, nt when thers believe that they need me t.
I’ve als gtten much better at laying dwn bundaries. One bundary is saying ‘N’ t things that will cst me labur with n returns, whether this is physical, emtinal, mnetary r ther. The best part abut it is that yu ntice hw many friends, wrkmates r even clse relatinships disappear when yu stp saying yes t everything. It’s t ugh t realise that they preferred yu withut bundaries, agreeing t their every request, at the cst f yur wn emtinal well-being. But in the lng run, yu clear the path fr better relatinships with peple wh respect and value yu mre.
Nw I can manage my life better. The key thing is t acknwledge what yu want and if it’s mre balance and well-being, walk n a rad that will get yu there.
