Step 1 Lead - in (5 minutes)
After warmly greeting the students, the teacher shws sme pictures f the interdependence f plants and animals, such as bees cllecting nectar frm flwers and birds building nests in trees.
Raise questins t guide students t think and discuss: "What relatinships can yu find between these plants and animals? Hw d they affect each ther?" Encurage students t actively share their bservatins and ideas, thus leading t the tpic f the relatinship between plants and animals in this lessn.
Step 2 Vcabulary Learning (8 minutes)
Use PPT t present the key vcabulary that appears in 1a - 2c, such as "pllinatin", "hneycmb", "cmmunicate", "rle", "ecsystem", etc. Help students understand the meanings f the wrds thrugh pictures, animatins, example sentences, and simple English explanatins. Fr example, play an animatin f bees pllinating t explain "pllinatin" and give the example sentence "Pllinatin is very imprtant fr the reprductin f plants."; shw a picture f a hneycmb t explain "hneycmb".
Lead the students t read the wrds and crrect their prnunciatins. Then, carry ut a vcabulary - chain game, where students take turns t say a new wrd starting with the last letter f a certain wrd t strengthen vcabulary memry.
Let students make simple sentences with the newly learned wrds. Invite sme students t share their sentences, and the teacher gives timely feedback and guidance t crrect incrrect usages.
Step 3 Listening Practice (10 minutes)
Befre playing the listening material in 1b, guide students t bserve the pictures and predict the listening cntent.
Play the listening material fr the first time. Let students cmplete the matching task, that is, match the animal behavirs with the crrespnding results. After playing, check the answers and give a brief explanatin.
Play the listening material again. Ask students t listen carefully and take ntes f the key infrmatin, such as the specific behavirs f animals and their impacts n plants r the ecsystem. Then, let students wrk in pairs, cmmunicate based n the recrded infrmatin, and share what they heard. The teacher walks arund and prvides help.
Step 4 Reading and Discussin (10 minutes)
Ask students t read the article cntent in 1b. The teacher raises questins, such as "What is the greatest wrk f bees? Hw d they cmmunicate with each ther?" Guide students t read with these questins in mind.
After students finish reading, rganize grup discussins fr them t share their understandings f the viewpints in the article. Each grup selects a representative t reprt the grup's discussin results t the whle class.
The teacher summarizes and supplements based n the students' reprts, guides students t deeply think abut the imprtance f plants and animals in the ecsystem, and encurages students t express their pinins n prtecting plants and animals.
Step 5 Oral Expressin (7 minutes)
Create situatins and present sme tpics abut the relatinships between plants and animals, such as "What wuld happen if there were n bees? Hw can we prtect the habitats f wild animals?" Let students have a cnversatin and discussin in pairs.
The teacher walks arund each grup, encurages students t express their pinins using the learned vcabulary and sentence patterns, crrects language errrs in a timely manner, and guides students t expand the cnversatin cntent.
Invite several pairs f students t shw their cnversatins. Other students listen carefully and evaluate, scring and cmmenting frm aspects such as language use, pinin expressin, and cmmunicatin fluency.
