ck泛指烹饪食物，并非某种特殊的烹饪方式，适用范围很广。例：你想我晚餐煮什么？What wuld yu like me t ck fr dinner?
bil 用开水煮，煮沸
把食材放入水中煮开是烹饪菜肴常有的一道工序，这个工序叫做“bil”。例：你应该把这些土豆在热水中煮四十五分钟。Yu shuld bil these ptates fr frty-five minutes.
fry 煎；油炸；炒
煎东西我们都要用到平底锅（pan），因此，表达“煎”我们可以用pan-fry。例：分别煎牛排和鸡蛋。Pan-fry the steak and the egg separately.
蒸笼中的食物都是靠滚烫的水蒸气慢慢蒸熟的。例：烹煮蔬菜最好的方式是蒸几分钟。The best way t ck many vegetables is t steam them fr a few minutes.
焖是指盖紧锅盖，用微火或锅的余热把饭菜煮熟，烹饪时间相对较短。炖是食物加汤水和调味品，先用旺火煮沸，然后转小火长时间烧煮。例：红焖羊肉 stewed lamb in brwn sauce
Braise 煨炖，红烧
指食物用油炸或炒过后再用文火煨炖，一般汤汁不覆盖食物。例：油焖大虾 braised prawns
smke这个词的原意指的是吸烟，把这个动词变成过去分词，可以形容用熏制法制作的菜肴。例：熏肠 smked sausages
Marinate腌，浸泡
无论瓜、果、梨、桃还是各种肉类、蔬菜，用盐、糖、辣椒、酱油、酒等，以技巧、时间使它们变成风味独特的美味。例：肉片要用黄酒、醋、酱油腌过再炸。Marinate the sliced prk in rice wine, vinegar and sy sauce befre frying it.
grill / rast / bake 烤
放在铁架、铁格子上烤用“grill”；放在烤箱、火炉中烤用“rast”；放在密封的容器中，食物不直接接触火的烤用“bake”。例：用适当方式烤出来的蛋糕应该是很嫩的。A prperly baked cake is tender.
