Step 2 完成教材任务1、2
1.让学生学习本单元的生词。
2.让学生根据任务1的提示词与同桌谈论任务1的图片。
3.让学生先熟悉任务2的问题。
4.播放录音,完成任务2。再次播放录音,核对答案。
Step 3 完成教材任务3
1.播放录音,设置几个简单的问题,锻炼学生的听力。
(1)What was the world’s population in 2020?
About 7.8 billion. 　 

(2)Which countries are seeing the most population growth?
India,Nigeria and Pakistan. 　 

2.让学生大声朗读对话,完成任务3后面的笔记。与同桌核对答案,然后老师给出标准答案。
3.让学生大声朗读大数字。
4.老师请几名学生在班级朗读大数字。
Step 4 完成教材任务4
1.让学生独立完成任务4的题目。
2.请学生读出句子,并翻译句子,老师给出指导。
Step 5 完成教材任务5、6
1.先播放两遍任务 5中的录音,让学生注意听大数字的读法。
2.然后再播放两遍录音,让学生跟读。最后,各学习小组总结大数字的读法。
3.老师再列出一些大数字,挑选4名学生进行比赛,看谁读得既准又快。
4.小组内讨论,表达自己对人口问题的观点。
板书设计
1.The population of sp.is...表示“某地有多少人”。此外sp.has a population of...也可以表示“某地有多少人”。形容人口的多少用big、large或small。当population作主语时,谓语动词用单数。
2.询问某地有多少人口的表达方法:
What’s the population of...?
How large is the population of...?
注意:询问某地有多少人口时不用how many和how much。
3.hundred/thousand/million/billion等前有具体数字时,用单数形式。
hundred/thousand/million/billion等后有of时,用复数形式。
4.辨析noise、oice与sound。
(1)noise指噪音,形容词为noisy,意为“吵闹的”,常用短语make noise“发出噪音”。
(2)voice指嗓音(人说话或唱歌)。
(3)sound指一切声音。
5.prepare for为……做准备
prepare to do sth.准备去做某事
6.write a report写报告

◇教学反思◇
　　本模块以“人口”为话题,重点探讨城市化进程当中人口聚集带来的问题。对于中国这样一个人口基数大,增长速度快的人口大国,在发展经济的过程中不能不关注人口问题造成的影响。因此,在中学英语教学中提出关注人口,关注城市化进程所面临的问题对青少年的成长具有现实意义。
