教学过程
Step1 Lead in
Lead in the tpic by a picture f Beijing Olympic Frest Park and intrduce sme backgrund infrmatin abut this park. Ask the students:
Q1: What’s the difference between a natinal park and a city park?
Q2:What can peple d in a city park?
Step2 Pre-listening---Activity1
1. Guide the ss t learn sme new wrds (rent, cycle, crridr, funtain, ride) and the phrases in this part befre ding the task.
2.The students finish the task in activity 1 independently.
3. Check the answers tgether.
Step3 Listening
I. Activity2
1. The students listen t the cnversatin fr ne time and tick their chices. Then they are asked t listen again, check their answers, and make revises when listening if necessary.
2. The students check answers with the teacher.
II. Activity 3
Tips n listening fr directins.
Directin wrds
Ask the students t give directins accrding t the fllwing pictures s that they can
activate their prir knwledge and learn sme new directin wrds. In this way, they can finish the task in activity 3 better.
Read the map
Guide the students t learn t read a map, including directins, main spts, and main rads.
The students listen and finish the tasks in this part.
Ask a student t draw n the ppt and the ther students evaluate their peer’s perfrmance.
The teacher crrects their mistakes if any.
Emphasize the imprtance f sequence wrds and directin wrds.
Step 4 Speaking—Activity 4
Wrk in pairs. Rle-play visiting the park. The wrds and phrases are fr the students’ reference.
Learn the expressins abut asking fr and giving directins belw.
Speaking—Grup wrk
Ask the students t make up a cnversatin with their partners (in grups f three) accrding
t the map in activity 3.
Q: Linlin, Yuhui and Jake are nw at Underwater Crridr, hw can they get t the next destinatin, Wali Lake?
Step 5 Hmewrk
1. Review the expressins f asking fr and giving directins.
2. Make up a cnversatin f asking fr and giving directins accrding t the map in activity 3 (frm Wali Lake back t the Suth Gate f Suth Park).
