一、开场引入(约 5 分钟)
T:Gd mrning, class! Hw are yu all tday? Befre we start ur new unit, let me shw yu sme pictures. Lk at these pictures carefully. What can yu see? Raise yur hands and tell me.
S1:I can see a lt f brken huses. It lks like a very bad earthquake.
T:Great! That's exactly right. What else?
S2:There's a lt f water, and huses are in the water. It must be a fld.
T:Yu're very bservant. And what abut this ne? (指向火山喷发的图片)
S3:The vlcan is erupting, and there's s much smke and ash.
T:Perfect. All these pictures shw different kinds f natural disasters. Natural disasters are very pwerful and can cause a lt f damage t ur lives and prperty. Nw, let's think abut this: Have yu ever experienced a natural disaster, r have yu heard abut ne happening arund yu? Share yur thughts with yur classmates sitting next t yu fr ne minute.

T:Okay, let's stp the discussin. Nw, let's learn sme new wrds related t natural disasters. (展示单词卡,依次呈现单词和图片)
T:The first wrd is "disaster". Read after me, "disaster".
Ss:Disaster.
T:A disaster is a very bad event that causes a lt f harm, like the nes we saw in the pictures. Fr example, an earthquake is a kind f disaster. Nw, the next wrd is "vlcan". "Vlcan".
Ss:Vlcan.
T:A vlcan is a muntain with a hle at the tp. Smetimes, ht lava, smke, and ash cme ut f it. Can yu think f any famus vlcanes in the wrld?
S4:Munt Fuji in Japan.
T:That's a great example. Next, we have "earthquake". Read it tgether.
Ss:Earthquake.
T:An earthquake is when the grund shakes suddenly. It can make buildings fall dwn. What abut "tsunami"? Read it.
Ss:Tsunami.
T:A tsunami is a very big and pwerful wave in the cean. It is usually caused by an earthquake under the sea. Nw, let's practice these wrds. I'll shw yu the pictures again, and yu tell me the wrds quickly. (Shw the pictures ne by ne and ask students t say the crrespnding wrds)
三、听力活动 1(约 10 分钟)
T:Nw, let's mve n t a listening activity. I'll play a shrt radi reprt. Listen carefully and answer this questin: What natural disaster is the reprt talking abut? Are yu ready? Here we g. (Play the recrding)

T:Okay, stp. Wh can tell me the answer? Raise yur hand.
S5:It's abut a tsunami.
T:Crrect! Nw, listen t the reprt again. This time, I want yu t fill in the blanks n yur wrksheet. (Distribute the wrksheets and play the recrding again)

T:In the listening, we heard abut hw a tsunami can be very dangerus. Nw, let's discuss in grups f fur: What wuld yu d if yu were near the cast and yu heard a tsunami warning? Each grup chses a leader t write dwn yur ideas. Yu have five minutes t discuss.

Grup 1 leader:We wuld run t a high place as quickly as pssible, like a hill r the tp flr f a tall building. And we wuld als tell ur family and friends arund us.

五、语法引入(约 10 分钟)
T:Nw, let's lk at sme sentences frm the listening reprt. (Write the sentences n the bard: "The water was mving back frm the beach. Peple were running t safety.") Read these sentences with me.
Ss:(Read the sentences)
T:In these sentences, we use the past cntinuus tense. The past cntinuus tense is used t talk abut an actin that was happening at a certain time in the past. The structure is "was/were + verb - ing". Fr example, "I was reading a bk at 8 'clck last night." means at 8 'clck last night, the actin f reading was in prgress. Nw, let's practice making sme sentences in the past cntinuus tense. I'll give yu sme situatins, and yu make sentences. Fr example, if I say "yesterday afternn, play basketball", yu can say "I was playing basketball yesterday afternn." Are yu clear?
Ss:Yes.
T:Okay, here's the first situatin: "last night, watch TV".
S8:I was watching TV last night.
T:Gd. Next ne: "at 3 'clck this mrning, sleep".
S9:I was sleeping at 3 'clck this mrning.

六、总结与作业布置(约 5 分钟)
T:Tday, we started ur new unit abut natural disasters. We learned sme new wrds, listened t a reprt abut a tsunami, discussed what t d in case f a disaster, and als learned a little abut the past cntinuus tense. Fr hmewrk, I want yu t write a shrt paragraph abut a natural disaster yu knw. Yu shuld use at least five new wrds we learned tday and sme sentences in the past cntinuus tense.
