When you look at a mountain with snow on the top, it looks so beautiful. But that can change very quickly if an avalanche happens.
An avalanche is quite a lot of snow, ice and rocks moving quickly down a mountain, usually on slopes (斜坡) of 30° to 45°. It can move at speeds at 96 km/h to 129 km/h.
Different things can make avalanches happen suddenly. About 90% of avalanches happen because of humans, like climbers and snow mobiles (雪地摩托). Strong winds, earthquakes, and even animals can also make them happen.
Avalanches happen all year around. Most of them are small, but in high mountains, such as the Alps and the Himalayas, they can be very large and dangerous. When it happens, the fast-moving snow, ice and rocks can cover people, all the houses and villages along the way. The snow becomes too hard to move. That can make people under it die of the cold.
However, what can we do to keep safe if we want to climb snow mountains? Education and right training can help. They can give us useful advice. For example, never start climbing when the snow begins melting (融化), especially in spring. Avalanches may happen in this season at any minute. Wait for at least 2 days to start climbing after a snowstorm. Bring useful tools, like a beacon (信标) to help others find you. Phones sometimes don’t work on mountains. Keeping quiet on the mountains is also important.
Anyway, avalanches are part of nature. We need to have respect for the mountains and weather all the time.

例文
In recent years, there have been many disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, fires, sandstorms and so on.
When there is a flood, we should get to high ground and make sure not to walk through the flood water. If an earthquake happens, we can hide under a strong desk and stay away from a window. If a fire happens, we can use a wet towel to cover our mouth and nose and stay low to the ground.
Of course, we should take action to prevent future disasters. We can plant more trees and protect wild animals. We can also share some related information with others.
Hope we can have a better world in the future.
Drop to the floor.
Earthquakes always happen without much warning, so it’s recommended that you drop to the floor as soon as an earthquake hits.Take cover.
Get under a strong table or desk. If possible, stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch (蹲) in an inside corner of the building.Hold on.
The ground may be shaking and objects could be falling. Hold on to whatever surface or platform you’ve gotten under and wait for the shaking to stop. If you are unable to find a surface to hide under, continue to keep your head protected by your arms.Remain inside.
Researchers have shown that most injuries happen when people try to change the place of hiding or when the place is crowded and everyone has a goal to get outside. So remain inside until it’s safe to get out.beat good neighbor sudden one come minute be forget
