Being gd at smething and having a passin fr it are nt enugh. Success depends fundamentally n ur view f urselves and f the 1 in ur lives.
Wilsn received several internatinal awards fr his great cntributins. He lsthis sight but fund a visin. He prved that it's nt what happens t us that 2 ur lives--it's what we make f what happens.
      1. A. dilemmas B. accidents C. events D. steps
      2. A. distinguishes B. determines C. claims D. limits
      1. C。结合文章最后一句“He prved that it's nt what happens t us that 2 ur lives--it's what we make f what happens.” 空白处对应最后一段中的“what happens(发生的事)”。
      2. B。结合第一段中的“Success depends fundamentally n ur view f urselves and f the 1 in ur lives,”可知,成功从根本上取决于我们对自己和对生活中发生的事情的看法。

My life as a tax-paying emplyed persn began in middle schl, when, fr three whle days, I wrked in a baking factry.
... It happened that the plant dwntwn needed eight kids fr ______ help during ur spring break, fr which I had n plans beynd listening t my favurite recrds. I'd earn minimum wage.
      A. generus B. financial C. technical D. temprary
根据第一段中的“when, fr three whle days, I wrked in a baking factry”以及下文“during ur spring break”可知,这是一份临时性的工作。
I was sent t the Crnad Natinal Frest fr my first 8-day ______. We had t carry everything we needed and walk three miles t where we wrked.
Needless t say, I suffered a lt. But I knw whatever I have t face in my life I was there and I survived. I think I am much strnger fr having taken part in the prject.
      A. tur B. prject C. campaign D. curse
根据最后一段中的“fr having taken part in the prject”可知,此处为原词复现。
比较常见的有cme、g、get、take、hld、turn、lk等搭配构成的短语。
That taught me a valuable lessn and I pass it n t the peple wh wrk in the market. Dn't take it ______. If a custmer is rude r difficult, just think “Maybe she's had a rw with her husband. Maybe her child's nt well."
      A. kindly B. secretly C. persnally D. casually
根据下文“If a custmer is rude r difficult, just think ‘Maybe she's had a rw with her husband ...”
When he was 16, Mlai began t ntice smething disturbing happening arund his hme. A fld had hit the area earlier that year and the damage it caused had driven away a number f birds. ______, the number f snakes had declined as well.
      A. Besides B. Hwever C. Therefre D. Otherwise
再根据空格后“the number f snakes had declined as well”可知,前后两句之间为递进关系,故选A。
At this stre, peple ______ and then g ff t the side t bag their wn grceries. My mther was putting her grceries int shpping bags when a stranger came up t her and said,“Here are the things that yu put back."
      A. shw up B. call in C. check ut D. sit dwn
shw up出现,露面;call in叫……
