Step 1 Lead in
T: Lk! This is my gd friend Betty. Last night, she sent me a message. What did she say? Let’s see. Yu see, Betty wants t learn abut the Dragn Bat Festival. S I’m ging t write a letter t tell her. Can yu write the letter tgether with me?
Step 2 Presentatin
(The teacher present the 5 steps t write a letter.)
① First, t write a letter, we have t begin with a “salutatin”. S let’s write dwn “Dear Betty” first;
② Then, we have t write sme pening wrds.
They can be sme greeting wrds, fr example, “I am glad that yu are interested in Chinese festival.” and the reasn why yu write this letter, fr example, “I’m writing t tell yu my favrite.”
③ Next, we can write the bdy part f the letter: intrduce the festival.
④ After that, we can write sme clsing wrds t end ur letter, fr example, “Best wishes r Yurs”;
⑤ finally, let’s write dwn ur signature.
Step 3 Writing— Hw t intrduce yur favrite Chinese festival
1. Make sme ntes abut the Dragn Bat Festival.
2. Match the wrds with the pictures.
3. Make an utline f the intrductin.
① Intrduce the festival and when it is celebrated.
② Talk abut what peple d and eat.
③ Explain why yu like it best and hw it makes yu feel.
T: Remember: Making an utline (框架) can help us write well and clearly. Nw, let’s g n writing. My favrite Chinese festival is the Dragn Bat Festival. It’s celebrated n the fifth day f the fifth lunar mnth.
4. Use the expressins and sentence structures t write the intrductin. Then use the writing tips t plish the sentences.
① add “when, where, hw, why” t the sentence.
② Cmbine(合并) similar sentences using prper linking wrds(连词).
③ Use different expressins t describe activities.
Step 4 Hmewrk
1. Write a letter t yur pen pal and tell him/her abut yur favrite Chinese festival.
2. Use the checklist t plish yur letter.
