Thugh the FIFA Wrld Cup came t an end in December 2022, the peple f a special city in China were busy making sccer histry f their wn.
Zib in Shandng prvince is called “the hme f sccer ball”, being the birthplace f the ancient Chinese sprt f cuju. Cuju wn recgnitin (认可) frm sccer’s gverning bdy, FIFA, as the earliest frm f sccer in 2004.
“Side-flicking”, “chest-dwn” and “shulder-stpper” are sme f the key mves mastered (掌握) by cuju players. Li Weipeng, frm Linzi district f Zib city, is a seventh-generatin inheritr (传承人) f cuju. He has been practicing these skills fr 18 years.
