　　In the water arund New Yrk City is a very small island called Liberty Island. On Liberty Island there is a very special statue called the Statue f Liberty. It is ne f the mst famus sights in the wrld.　　The Statue f Liberty was a gift frm the peple f France t the peple f the United States. The Statue was made by a French sculptr(雕刻家) named Frederic August Barthldi. The inner supprt system was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same man wh made the famus Eiffel Twer in Paris.　　
　　Liberty, f curse, means freedm, and the Statue f Liberty was given t the United States t celebrate the ne hundred anniversary(周年纪念) f U. S. independence frm England. The statue was built in France, taken apart piece by piece, and then rebuilt in the United States. It was pened fr the public n Octber 28th, 1886.　　As yu might expect, the statue is very big. Visitrs can ride an elevatr frm the grund t the bttm f the statue. If they want t, they can then walk up the 168 steps t reach the head f the statue where they can lk ut ver New Yrk and enjy the beautiful sight f the city.
