1.多个形容词修饰名词的顺序。
在英语中,表示形状、大小、高低、长短、性别等的形容词修饰名词时,应遵循以下顺序:评价类+大小+形状+老少新旧+颜色+产地+材料+名词。
简言之,只需记住一句英语即可:a beautiful small rund ld yellw French wd study。也可记住一个口诀:限定描绘大长高,形状年龄和新老;颜色国籍跟材料,作用类别往后靠。
2.辨析each和every。
两者都有“每个”的意思,但用法不同:
(1)each具有代词和形容词的功能,every只有形容词的功能。
(2)each指两个或两个以上的人或事物中的“每个”,侧重个体;every指三个或三个以上的人或事物中的“每个”,侧重总体,和all的意思相近。
(3)every总是修饰单数名词,后接动词第三人称单数形式。each作形容词时,修饰单数名词,谓语动词用第三人称单数;作代词时单独使用,谓语动词用第三人称单数;放在复数名词和代词后作同位语时,谓语动词用复数形式;each f后接复数名词时,其后谓语动词通常用第三人称单数。
(4)代表each和every的物主代词可以用his,也可以用their。
