    引述别人的话语一般采用两种方式: 一是原封不动地引用原话, 把它放在引号内, 这叫直接引语(Direct speech); 一是用自己的话加以转述, 这叫间接引语(Indirect speech).

    直接引语里的第一人称和第二人称,变间 接引语时,人称要做相应调整。1. She said: “I am hungry.” She said she was hungry.2. Mum said t me:“ Yu can d it yurself.” Mum tld me that I culd d it myself. 3. Mr. Smith said, “He is a gd wrker.’’ Mr. Smith said that he was a gd wrker.
    1. Jack said t me, “Yu lk wrried tday.” Jack tld me that __ lked wrried that day. 2. We said t her, “They’re cleaning the rm.” We tld her that ____ were cleaning the rm. 3. Mr. Black said, “I have walked a lng way.” Mr. Black said that __ had walked a lng way.
    直接引语变间接引语时,间接引语的时态要与主句的时态一致。
    He says: “I treat yu as my sn.” He says that he treats me as his sn.
    1. 主句为一般现在时, 现在完成时或一般将来时的时候, 间接引语时态不变。
    一般现在时“I knw it,” he said.
    一般过去时He said he knew it.
    2. 当主句为过去时, 从句要跟着相应的变化。
    现在进行时“I’m making cffee fr yu all,” she said.
    过去进行时She said she was making cffee fr us all.
    现在完成时“I have seen her befre,” said he.
    过去完成时He said he had seen her befre.
    现在完成进行时He said, “I have been ding it fr hurs.”
    过去完成进行时He said he had been ding it fr hurs.
    一般过去时“I saw her last Mnday,” he said.
    过去完成时He said he had seen her the previus Mnday.
    过去进行时“I was waiting fr Jim,” she said.
    过去完成进行时She said she had been waiting fr Jim.
    一般将来时He said: “We shall start tmrrw.”
    过去将来时He said they wuld start the next day.
    过去完成时“Rick had been ill fr many days till he died.” Jack said.
    过去完成时Jack said Rick had been ill fr many days till he died.
    一般现在时现在完成时现在进行时一般将来时一般过去时

    由直接引语转变为间接引语,下列情况时态不变:
    → The teacher said that water freezes when the temperature falls belw 0℃.
    The teacher said: “Water freezes when the temperature falls belw 0℃.”
    He said t the dctr, “I smke tw packs every day.”
    → He tld the dctr that he smkes tw packs every day.
    3. 直接引语为一般过去时并且与具体时间状语连用:
    The teacher said, “I was brn in 1945.”
    → The teacher said she was brn in 1945.
    4. 部分情态动词,如 must, ught t, used t, had better 等: She said t me: “Yu must hurry up.” → She said that I must hurry up.
    如果在当地转述, here不必改为there, 动词 cme 不必改为g。如果在当天转述, yesterday/tmrrw等时间状语也不必改变。
    A: Yu needn’t cme here tmrrw.B: What did she say?C: She said that yu needn’t cme here tmrrw.
