A few years ag，scientists at the University f Califrnia，San Dieg discvered what cntrls a plant's stmata.The tw cells that frm the stma cnsist f specialized cells adjusted t the resnant(共鸣的)frequency f calcium(钙)．When expsed t this frequency the stmata clse.Hwever，if the frequency isn't exactly right the cells will pen again within an hur.This happens even if the cncentratin f calcium is high enugh that the stmata wuld nrmally clse.
When specific music r bird sngs cause the plant t vibrate(颤动)，but nt at the exact frequency fr calcium resnance，the stmata will pen after a misjudgment f time，even thugh the plant wuld keep them clsed under nrmal circumstances.
